BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Benefits

Membership of SEFDEY Professional Association provides the opportunity to apply for foundation degrees and some honours degrees, to be sector endorsed (see section on sector endorsement).  Local authorities, QAA, employers, potential students and families can be confident that the sector endorsed degree programmes are reliably validated with appropriate academic rigour and are a mark of quality.  SEFDEY is the only gold standard HE accredited award in early years that values the quality of practice, cumulative experience and academic thoroughness.

Membership provides members with a forum for discussion on issues related to degrees in early years, early year’s policy and practice, qualifications and training and the professional role of early year’s practitioners.

Members meet regularly within their local regions to grow network contacts and engage with collaborative research undertaken by HEIs in their locality.

All members are invited to attend (for a small additional fee), the Annual National Meeting which includes the AGM, with opportunities to listen to high profile and inspirational speakers on topics of interest and currency.  This provides the chance to talk to global thought leaders and researchers, enabling you to inspire your courses, develop staff and share your knowledge and experience.

Members can access support and information to help manage their foundation degrees.  There are, for example, opportunities to advertise for free in a targeted fashion, for new staff, external examiners and expert panel members for validation events.

As a member you can access direct contact details of all members that have agreed to make this information available.

Members can also volunteer to speak at the national and regional meetings, to disseminate their research or become a committee member.
